A huge thanks to Nurse Sandy for inviting us back into the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School this spring to provide preventive dental care for the students! We appreciate everyone's dedication to promoting this program and the fundamentals of oral health throughout the school and the community! We have enjoyed the time we were able to spend on-site and hope to see you all soon!
Northern Dental Access Center participated in the Tiny Tots Expo on April 20th, 2013 at the Bemidji Boys and Girls Club. Time flew as the expo ran from 10:00am-12:00pm and the building was filled with children and their parents excited to visit the booths and learn and play! We were happy to be able to teach children how to brush their teeth properly using a large mouth model and an oversized toothbrush! Keep up the good brushing habits! We will see you next year!
We were able to see 15 children at JW Smith Elementary during our second year partnering with the school for the oral health program! Thank you to all of the students and staff that welcomed us back on-site this spring. We hope to work with you for many years to come to raise awareness of good oral health habits!
Northern Dental Access Center has received a grant from Healthier Minnesota Community Clinic Fund which consists of a portable dental unit. A team which consists of a Dental Hygienist and a Dental Assistant will be able to perform preventative services such as cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, oral health instruction, and screening for decay and other oral health problems. Our goals include preventative services and proper referrals for the elimination of pain and disease for this under served population, as well as to provide education and increasing awareness of oral health and it's impact on overall wellness throughout our community.
Click Here to download a Child's Medical History Consent Form. (it will need to be filled out completely to be seen for preventative services.)
